Title & Content

Title:
ERC funding opportunities for archaeology
Content:
The European Research Council is the first pan-European funding body sustaining the best investigator-driven frontier research in Europe across all fields. Its bottom-up nature, allowing researchers to identify new opportunities in any field of research, is particularly attractive for the Social Sciences and Humanities. Since applications and funded projects in the field of archaeology are significantly increasing, we would like to hold an informative session on the ERC funding opportunities.
The aim is to present the ERC funding schemes (Starting, Consolidator, Advanced + Synergy grants), the specificities of the SH6 panel ‘The study of the human past: history and archaeology’ and the potential of these grants for applicants at different career stage (from post-doctoral researchers to well-established archaeologists). Three ERC grantees will then present their research projects. EAA annual meeting attendants will be provided with both direct feedback and useful information on the ERC selection procedure from three complementary perspectives (ERC scientific officer/panel members/grantees).
